The International Casual Furnishings Association (ICFA), established in 2008, is an inclusive trade association whose goal is to create a community of professionals dedicated to the success of all its members in today's competitive global marketplace. Its membership is comprised of manufacturers/importers, retailers, designers, sales representatives, suppliers and media associate members – anyone involved with the casual furnishings industry!

The ICFA's predecessor organization was the Summer and Casual Furniture Manufacturers Association (SCFMA), founded in 1959. As its name implies, membership in this organization focused on those involved in the manufacturing of casual furniture. In 2007, the SCFMA recognized the need to expand membership to create a more inclusive organization, better positioned to serve the casual furnishings industry in the future.

In August 2008, the board of directors of the Casual Furniture Retailers Association (CFR) voted unanimously to recommend to their membership integration of their operations into the ICFA. A retailer council was also created within the ICFA to give our retailer members a forum to discuss common industry issues and concerns, and work towards mutually beneficial solutions.
