Celebrate the Fourth of July with Outdoor Furnishings Made in the USA

June 30, 2020
HIGH POINT – As Americans across the country get ready to celebrate the Fourth of July this year, many are looking to their own outdoor spaces as the best place to be in 2020. Many will be shopping for new items to add more comfort, function and style to their porches, decks and patios.

“As consumers shop for outdoor items this year, they will be pleased to find ample selections of furnishings made here in the United States,” said Jackie Hirschhaut, vice president of the American Home Furnishings Alliance and executive director of its outdoor division, the International Casual Furnishings Association. “Not only can consumers add comfort and style to their outdoor spaces, but they also can support their fellow American workers, which is an especially good feeling in this challenging year.”

Research conducted on behalf of the ICFA earlier this year showed that more than half of Americans were planning to add at least one new piece of outdoor furniture this year. “Decks, patios and porches have become even more important since many consumers have increased their time spent at home during the pandemic,” Hirschhaut said. “Those who are lucky enough to have outdoor spaces want to make the most of those spaces during these difficult times. I’m proud that many of our manufacturers are still producing their goods in the States, and consumers who prefer U.S.-made items have plenty of options.”
