Celebrate National Splurge Day on June 18 Lounging in Your Outdoor Space

HIGH POINT, N.C. — If you mention that June 18 is National Splurge Day to someone, you will likely get a smile in return. And why not? Don’t we all need a fun, feel-good reason to do something special for ourselves?

And what better way to celebrate this occasion than by relaxing in your personal great outdoors. Research conducted earlier this year on behalf of the International Casual Furnishings Association showed that 70 percent of consumers would rather spend time outdoors than indoors. So pour yourself your favorite iced beverage, gather a loved one and put your feet up on a special piece of outdoor furniture to indulge yourself.

“Outdoor furniture is generally designed to be relaxing, so June 18 is the perfect day to indulge oneself in your outdoor space,” said Jackie Hirschhaut, vice president of the American Home Furnishings Alliance and executive director of its outdoor division, the International Casual Furnishings Association. “From luxurious double loungers to over-the-top daybeds, there are all sorts of outdoor furnishings that will let consumers splurge and enjoy themselves on this fabulous day.”
