Armed with a degree from the University of Connecticut – Major in Real Estate and Urban Economics with a Certificate of Professional Selling – Claire Walvick began working in commercial real estate for CBRE Boston. Two years later, she worked a summer at Porch & Patio Casual Living in Warwick, R.I., to learn the retail side of the casual furniture business before joining her father, Ted Hesson, as a casual furniture sales representative. The father-daughter team covered New England for Lloyd Flanders, Jensen Outdoor and Winston Furniture.
Claire has served on the rep councils for Lloyd Flanders and Jensen Outdoor as well as on the ICFA Sales Representative Council for three years. Claire is currently part of the ICFA Women’s Leadership Network.
Her husband, Jeff Walvick, joined the family business in 2014. With her father’s retirement in 2015, Jeff and Claire now represent Lloyd Flanders, Jensen Outdoor, EC Woods, Pavilion Furniture, Tempo Patio and Classic Cushions in New England, Long Island and NYC.
“Joining this industry has been the best career decision for Jeff and I, and we have not looked back,” she added. “We love the people, product, and culture!”
