Outdoor Spaces Perfect for Celebrating July Fourth at Home
High Point, NC – The Fourth of July – our favorite summer holiday – is fast approaching, and wouldn’t you love to avoid the crowds and salute our nation by hosting a celebration at home in your own outdoor space?
Outdoor manufacturers and their retailers are offering a multitude of options in red, white and blue that will help you create a fitting tribute to the grand old flag and our nation in style outdoors.
“Americana looks have always been classic in outdoor furnishings,” said Jackie Hirschhaut, executive director of the International Casual Furnishings Association. “But we’ve seen a renewed interest in the colors of our nation over the past couple of years. The colors are suitable year-round, but they are especially welcome on the Fourth of July, the height of summer and the time when most of us feel extra patriotic.”
The Americana theme is characterized by navy or vivid blues, barn red and white, khaki or gray. In outdoor furnishings, the blues are often seen paired with a crisp white frame – whether wicker, high-gloss aluminum, painted wood or faux wood. A pop of red in accessories such as pillows or rugs – or even a chair – is just the thing to add a Fourth of July punch to white, gray or other neutral-colored seating.
A red outdoor smoker and pizza maker would be a huge hit at a Fourth of July celebration. In addition, fire pits remain popular for outdoor spaces, and their use allows the festivities to continue into the night for after-dark revelry and fireworks viewing.
“With so many Americana offerings in outdoor furnishings these days, everyone should be able to create just the setting they want for a festive red, white and blue celebration at home,” Hirschhaut said. “And today’s outdoor seating is so plush and comfortable, no one will want to leave the party.”
