In the mid-1980s, Dave Cintorino launched Spas East, specializing in the sale of spas and hot tubs in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. By the early 1990s, the company expanded into patio furniture to better serve its growing customer base and rebranded as Home Escapes. In 2009, Alex Ikenson joined as a partner when the business relocated to Herndon, Virginia.

A major milestone came in 2017 when Home Escapes acquired Offenbachers, a well-established name with 43 years of experience in the patio furniture industry. Offenbachers was widely regarded as the destination for outdoor furniture and accessories in the D.C. Metro area. Following the acquisition, the company rebranded as Offenbachers Home Escapes and added a new location in Rockville, Maryland. This strategic move preserved the legacy of the Offenbachers name while integrating the strengths of Home Escapes.

Continuing its growth, Offenbachers Home Escapes opened two additional locations in 2020—one in Annapolis, Maryland, and another in Gainesville, Virginia. With four stores across the region, the company now offers convenient access to customers throughout the entire D.C. Metro area.

At the core of Offenbachers Home Escapes is its dedicated team. Over a quarter of the staff have been with the company for more than a decade, and their commitment is evident in every part of the operation—from the showroom floor to the back office and warehouse. To maintain a highly skilled sales team and product expertise, Offenbachers conducts comprehensive, in-person product training led by vendor representatives. The management fosters a relaxed, customer-friendly atmosphere, making every visit enjoyable for both customers and employees.

Today, Offenbachers Home Escapes offers an extensive selection of patio furniture, spas, swim spas, billiard tables, and game room products. The company has built strong, long-standing partnerships with many of the leading outdoor furniture manufacturers, including: Bernhardt, Castelle, Casual Cushion, Ebel, Elaine Smith, Frankford, Hanamint, Jensen Leisure, Kingsley Bate, OW Lee, Patio Renaissance, Polywood, Ratana, Three Birds, Treasure Garden, Tropitone, and Winston.
